Controls
•Auger/ImpellerDriveControlLever—Toengage
boththeaugerandimpeller,presstheleveragainst
therighthandgrip.Todisengage,releasethelever.
•TractionControlLever—Toengagethetraction
(wheeldrive),presstheleveragainsttheleft
handgrip.Tostopthetraction,releasethelever.
•SpeedSelectorLever—Thiscontrolhas4
positions:3forwardspeedsand1reverse.Tochange
speeds,movethespeedselectorlevertothedesired
position.Theleverlocksinanotchateachspeed
selection.
Note:Beforeshiftinggearsintooroutofreverse,
youmustreleasethetractioncontrollever.Youmay
shiftbetweenanyoftheforwardspeedswithout
releasingthetractioncontrollever.
•DischargeChuteControl—Rotatethedischarge
chutecontrolclockwisetomovethedischargechute
totheleft;counterclockwisetomovethechuteto
theright.
•ChuteDeectorHandle—Movethedeector
handleforwardtomovethesnowstreamdown;
moveitrearwardtomovethesnowstreamup.
•FuelshutoffValve—Closethevalvebyrotating
clockwise.Openthevalvebyrotatingit
counterclockwise.Closethevalvewhenyoudonot
usethesnowthrower.
•IgnitionSwitch—Inserttheignitionkeybefore
startingtheengine.Tostoptheengine,removethe
key.
•Choke—MovethechoketotheFullpositionto
startacoldengine.Asenginewarmsup,gradually
movethechoketotheOffposition.
•ThrottleLever—Movethethrottleleverupward
toincreasetheenginespeed;moveitdownwardto
decreasetheenginespeed.Movethethrottleleverto
theStoppositiontostoptheengine.
•Primer—Presstheprimertopumpasmall
amountofgasolineintotheengineforimproved
cold-weatherstarting.
•ElectricStarter—Theelectricstarterisonthetop
oftheengine.Tostartthesnowthrower,connect
theelectricstartertoanelectricpowersourcewith
anapprovedextensioncordandpressthestarter
button.
•RecoilStarter—Therecoilstarterisontheback
sideoftheengine.Pulltherecoilstartertostartthe
engine.
•SnowClean-outTool—Thesnowclean-outtool
isonthetopoftheaugerhousing.Usethistoolto
unclogthedischargechutewhenitbecomesclogged
withsnow .
