PreparingtheSnowthrower
forStorage
1.Onthelastrefuelingoftheyear,addfuelstabilizer
tofreshfuelasdirectedbytheenginemanufacturer.
2.Runtheenginefor10minutestodistributethe
conditionedfuelthroughthefuelsystem.
3.Stoptheengine,allowittocool,anddrainthe
fueltankorruntheengineuntilitstops.Referto
EmptyingtheFuelTank.
4.Starttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
5.Chokeorprimetheengine,startitathirdtime,and
runtheengineuntilitwillnotstart.
6.Disposeofunusedfuelproperly.Recycleitaccording
tolocalcodes,oruseitinyourautomobile.
Note:Donotstorestabilizedgasolineformore
than90days.
7.Whiletheengineisstillwarm,changetheengineoil.
RefertoChangingtheEngineOil.
8.Removethesparkplug.
9.Squirt2teaspoonsofoilintothesparkplughole.
10.Installthesparkplugbyhandandthentorqueitto
15ft-lb(20.4N-m).Ifyoudonothaveatorque
wrench,tightentheplugrmly.Donotconnect
thewiretotheplug.
11.Pulltherecoilstarterslowlytodistributetheoilon
theinsideofthecylinder.
12.Lubricatethesnowthrower.RefertoLubricatingthe
Snowthrower.
13.Cleanthesnowthrower.
14.Touchupchippedsurfaceswithpaintavailable
fromanAuthorizedServiceDealer.Sandaffected
areasbeforepainting,andusearustpreventativeto
preventthemetalpartsfromrusting.
15.Tightenanyloosefasteners.Repairorreplaceany
damagedparts.
16.Coverthesnowthrowerandstoreitinaclean,dry
placeoutofthereachofchildren.Allowtheengine
tocoolbeforestoringitinanyenclosure.
RemovingtheSnowthrower
fromStorage
1.Removethesparkplugandspintheenginerapidly
usingthestartertoblowtheexcessoilfromthe
cylinder.
2.Installthesparkplugbyhandandthentorqueitto
15ft-lb(20.4N-m).
3.Connectthesparkplugwire.
4.Performtheannualmaintenanceproceduresasgiven
intheRecommendedMaintenanceSchedule.
