detailsifthesnowthroweristobestoredforan
extendedperiod.
•Maintainorreplacesafetyandinstructionlabels,as
necessary.
•Runthemachineafewminutesafterthrowingsnow
topreventfreeze-upoftheauger/impellerblades.

•Rotatingauger/impellercancutofforinjure
ngersorhands.Staybehindthehandlesand
awayfromthedischargeopeningwhileoperating
thesnowthrower.Keepyourface,hands,feet,
andanyotherpartofyourbodyorclothingaway
frommovingorrotatingparts.
•Beforeadjusting,cleaning,inspecting,
troubleshooting,orrepairingthesnowthrower,stop
theengine,removetheignitionkey,andwaitfor
allmovingpartstostop.Disconnectthewire
fromthesparkplugandkeepitawayfromthe
sparkplugtopreventsomeonefromaccidentally
startingtheengine.
•Beforeleavingtheoperatingposition,stopthe
engine,removetheignitionkey,andwaitforall
movingpartstostop.
•Tounclogthedischargechute,stayintheoperating
positionandreleasethelefthand(traction)lever.
Whilerunningtheauger/impeller,pushdownon
thehandlestoraisethefrontofthesnowthrowera
fewinches(centimeters)offthepavement.Thenlift
thehandlesquicklytobumpthefrontofthesnow
throweronthepavement.Repeatifnecessaryuntila
streamofsnowcomesoutthedischargechute.
•Ifyoucannotunclogthedischargechutebybumping
thefrontofthesnowthrower,stoptheengine,
waitforallmovingpartstostop,andusethe
clean-outtool;neveruseyourhand.
•Ifashield,safetydevice,ordecalisdamaged,
illegible,orlost,repairorreplaceitbeforebeginning
operation.
•Donotsmokewhilehandlinggasoline.
•Donotusethesnowthroweronaroof.
•Donottouchtheenginewhileitisrunningorsoon
afterithasstoppedbecausetheenginemaybehot
enoughtocauseaburn.
•Performonlythosemaintenanceinstructions
describedinthismanual.Beforeperformingany
maintenance,service,oradjustment,stoptheengine,
removetheignitionkey,anddisconnectthewire
fromthesparkplug.Ifmajorrepairsareeverneeded,
contactanAuthorizedServiceDealer.
•Donotchangethegovernorsettingsontheengine.
•Whenstoringthesnowthrowerformorethan
30days,drainthefuelfromthefueltanktoprevent
apotentialhazard.Storefuelinanapprovedfuel
container.Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitch
beforestoringthesnowthrower.
