ServiceInterval:Every100hours—Cleanthecooling
system.
Useadrybrushtocleangrassandaccumulateddebris
fromtheengine.
1.Disengagethebladecontrol(PTO).
2.Stoptheengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removethekeybeforeleavingtheoperatingposition.
3.Removetheairintakescreen,aircleanerclover,and
fanhousing.
4.Cleandebrisandgrassfromtheparts.
5.Installtheairintakescreen,aircleanercover,and
fanhousing.
Important:Topreventcontaminatingthefuel
system,donotusewatertocleantheengine.
BladeMaintenance
ServicingtheBlades
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Toensureasuperiorqualityofcut,keeptheblades
sharp.Forconvenientsharpeningandreplacement,keep
extrablades.
DANGER
Awornordamagedbladecanbreakandapiece
ofthebladecouldbethrownintotheoperator’s
orbystander’sarea,resultinginseriouspersonal
injuryordeath.
•Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearor
damage.
•Replaceawornordamagedblade.
InspectingtheBlades
1.Removethemower;refertoRemovingtheMower.
2.Inspectthecuttingedges(Figure28).Iftheedges
arenotsharporhavenicks,removethebladesand
sharpenthem;refertoSharpeningtheBlades.

forminginthisarea(Figure28),immediatelyinstalla
newblade.
RemovingtheBlades
1.Removethemower;refertoRemovingtheMower.
2.Carefullytipthemowerover.
3.Removethebolt(5/8inchwrench),curvedwasher,
retainer,andblade(Figure29).Useablockofwood
asawedgebetweenthebladeandthemowertolock
thebladewhenyouareremovingthebolt.
