Why does my Toro 74143 Lawn Mower engine lose power?

Your Toro Lawn Mower engine may be losing power for a number of reasons: the engine load could be excessive, so reduce the ground speed; the air cleaner could be dirty, so clean it; the oil level in the crankcase could be low, so add oil; the cooling fins and air passages above the engine could be plugged, so remove the obstruction; the vent hole in the fuel cap could be plugged, so clean or replace the fuel cap; or there could be dirt in the fuel filter, so replace it. For dirt, water, or stale fuel in the fuel system, contact an Authorized Service Dealer.
