1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterfor
shippingdamage.
Note:Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifyouarereplacingthesafetylter,carefully
slideitintothelterbody(Figure29).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesafety
lter(Figure29).
Note:Ensurethattheprimarylterisfully
seatedbypushingonitsouterrimwhileinstalling
it.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinside
areaofthelter.
4.Installtheair-cleanercoverwiththeside
indicatedasupfacingupwardandsecurethe
latches(Figure29).

higher)
OilCapacity(Non-EFIengines):withalterchange,
1.8L(61oz);withnolterchange,1.6L(54oz)

Important:Donotoverllthecrankcasewithoil
becausedamagetotheenginemayresult.Donot

1.Movethespeed-controllevertotheNEUTRAL
positiontostopthemachine.
2.DisengagethePTO,engagetheparkingbrake,
shutofftheengine,andwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
3.Allowtheenginetocool.
4.Raisethehopper
5.Cleantheareaaroundthedipstick(Figure31).
6.Removethedipstickandwipetheoiloff.
7.Insertthedipstickandpushitallthewaydown
intothetube.
8.Removethedipstickandreadtheoillevel.
9.Iftheoillevelislow,wipeofftheareaaroundthe
oil-llcap,removecapandlltothefullmarkon
thedipstick(Figure31).
Important:Donotoperatetheenginewith
theoillevelbelowthelow(oradd)markon
thedipstickoroverthefullmark.
