1.Stopthemachineandmovethespeed-control
levertotheNEUTRALposition.
2.DisengagethePTO,engagetheparkingbrake,
shutofftheengine,andwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
3.Checkthemovementofthesteeringleversas
follows:
•Iftheleversmoveslightlyforwardupto3mm
(1/8inch)thennoadjustmentisnecessary.
•Iftheleversdonotmove,thenproceedwith
thefollowingsteps:
A.Fliptheseatuporremovethe
seat-frameassembly(withtheseat
attached)toobtainaclearviewofthe
steering-controlshafttocompletethis
adjustment.
B.Placethespeed-controlleverinthe
NEUTRALposition.
C.Releasetheparkingbrake.
D.Slightlyadjustthelengthoftherodby
looseningthejamnutandbyrotating
therod.

3.Toadjustthetension,adjustthepivotnut,which
islocatedattheendofthemotion-controlshaft
infrontoftherightconsole(Figure54).
Note:Setthetensionhighenoughthatthe
speed-controlleverpositionismaintained
duringoperationandlooseenoughtobemoved
comfortably.
