machineeachtime.Ifthesafetysystemdoesnot
operateasdescribedbelow,haveanAuthorized
ServiceDealerrepairthesafetysystemimmediately.
1.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTO-engagementlevertotheON
position,andmovethespeed-controlleverto
theNEUTRALposition.Trystartingtheengine;
theengineshouldnotstart.
2.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,and
movethePTO-engagementlevertotheOFF
position.Movethespeed-controlleveroutofthe
NEUTRALposition.Trystartingtheengine;the
engineshouldnotstart.
3.Sitontheseat,disengagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTO-engagementlevertotheOFF
position,andmovethespeed-controlleverto
theNEUTRALposition.Trystartingtheengine;
theengineshouldnotstart.
4.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTO-engagementlevertotheOFF
position,andmovethespeed-controllevertothe
NEUTRALposition.Nowstarttheengine.While
theengineisrunning,releasetheparkingbrake,
engagethePTO-engagementlever,andrise
slightlyfromtheseat;theengineshouldshutoff.
5.Sitontheseat,engagetheparkingbrake,
movethePTO-engagementlevertotheOFF
position,andmovethespeed-controlleverto
theNEUTRALposition.Nowstarttheengine.
Movethespeed-controlleverforward;the
engineshouldshutoff.

•Theowner/operatorcanpreventandisresponsible
foraccidentsthatmaycausepersonalinjuryor
propertydamage.
•Wearappropriateclothing,includingeye
protection;slip-resistant,substantialfootwear;and
hearingprotection.Tiebacklonghairanddonot
wearjewelry.
•Donotoperatethemachinewhileill,tired,or
undertheinuenceofalcoholordrugs.
•Nevercarrypassengersonthemachineandkeep
bystandersandpetsawayfromthemachine
duringoperation.
•Operatethemachineonlyingoodvisibilitytoavoid
holesorhiddenhazards.
•Avoidmowingonwetgrass.Reducedtraction
couldcausethemachinetoslide.
•Ensurethatalldrivesareinneutral,theparking
brakeisengaged,andyouareintheoperating
positionbeforeyoustarttheengine.
•Keepyourhandsandfeetawayfromthecutting
units.Keepclearofthedischargeopeningatall
times.
•Lookbehindanddownbeforebackinguptobe
sureofaclearpath.
•Usecarewhenapproachingblindcorners,shrubs,
trees,orotherobjectsthatmayobscureyour
vision.
