wheelsmustbeturningtoadjustthemotion
controls.Contactwithmovingpartsorhot
surfacesmaycausepersonalinjury.
Keepyourngers,hands,andclothingclear
ofrotatingcomponentsandhotsurfaces.
CAUTION
Raisingthemowerdeckforserviceor
maintenancerelyingsolelyonmechanical
orhydraulicjackscouldbedangerous.The
mechanicalorhydraulicjacksmaynotbe
enoughsupportormaymalfunctionallowing
theunittofall,whichcouldcauseinjury.
Donotrelysolelyonmechanicalorhydraulic
jacksforsupport.Useadequatejackstands
orequivalentsupport.
1.Stopthemachineandmovethespeed-control
levertotheNEUTRALposition.
2.DisengagethePTO,engagetheparkingbrake,
shutofftheengine,andwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
3.Removetheelectricalconnectionfromtheseat
safetyswitch,locateddirectlyinfrontofthe
seat-switchassembly.
4.Raisetheframeandplaceonjackstandsso
thatdrivewheelscanrotatefreely.
Note:Youmustmaketheneutraladjustment
withthedrivewheelsturning.
5.Temporarilyinstallajumperwireacrossthe
terminalsintheconnectorofthewiringharness.
6.Starttheengine.
7.Runthemachineatleast5minuteswiththe
speed-controlleveratfullforwardspeedto
bringthehydraulicsystemoiluptooperating
temperature.
8.Returnthespeed-controllevertotheNEUTRAL
position.
9.ToobtaintheNEUTRALposition,adjusttheleft
andrightpump-control-rodlinkagesthatconnect
thesteeringcontroltothepump-controlarms
untilthewheelsstoporcreepslightlyinreverse
(Figure55).
10.Adjusttheleftpumplinkagebyrotatingthe
tracking-adjustmentknob.
11.Adjusttherightpumplinkagebyusingawrench
toturnthedoublenutsontheassembly(Figure
55)

12.Movethesteeringleverstothereverseposition.
Whileapplyingslightpressuretothelevers,
allowthesteeringleverstoreturntoNEUTRAL.
Note:Thewheelsmuststopturningorslightly
creepinreverse.
13.Shutofftheengineandwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
14.Removethejumperwirefromthewire-harness
connectorandplugtheconnectorintotheseat
switch.
15.Lowerthemachinefromthejackstands.
AligningthePTO-Drive
Pulley
AlignthePTO-drivepulleyforanyofthefollowing
conditions:
•Theblowerhasbeenremovedorreplaced.
•Theenginemountingboltshavebeenloosenedor
theenginehasbeenmovedorreplaced.
•Thejackshaftmountingboltshavebeenloosened
orthejackshafthasbeenmovedorreplaced.
1.Stopthemachineandmovethespeed-control
levertotheNEUTRALposition.
2.DisengagethePTO,engagetheparkingbrake,
shutofftheengine,andwaitforallmovingparts
tostop.
