1.Disengagetheblade-controlswitch,movethe
motioncontrolsoutwardtothePARKposition,
shutofftheengine,andremovethekey.
2.Removegrassclippings,dirt,andgrimefromthe
externalpartsoftheentiremachine,especially
theengine.
3.Cleandirtandchafffromtheoutsideofthe
enginecylinder-headnsandblowerhousing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachine
withamilddetergentandwater.Do
notpressure-washthemachine.Avoid
excessiveuseofwater,especiallynearthe
controlpanel,undertheseat,aroundthe
engine,hydraulicpumps,andmotors.
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page35).
5.Greaseandoilthemachine;refertoLubrication
(page34).
6.Changethecrankcaseoilandlter;referto
ChangingtheEngineOilandOilFilter(page37).
7.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe

8.Chargethebattery;refertoChargingtheBattery

9.Checktheconditionoftheblades;referto

10.Preparethemachineforstoragewhennon-use
occursover30days.Preparethemachinefor
storageasfollows.
11.Addapetroleumbasedstabilizer/conditioner
tothefuelinthetank.Followthemixing
instructionsfromthestabilizermanufacturer.Do
notuseanalcoholbasedstabilizer(ethanolor
methanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshgasolineand
usedatalltimes.
Runtheenginetodistributetheconditionedfuel
throughthefuelsystem(5minutes).
Shutofftheengine,allowittocool,anddrain
thefueltank.
Restarttheengineandrunituntilitstops.
Choketheengine.Startandruntheengineuntil
itdoesnotstart.
Disposeoffuelproperly.Recyclepursuantto
localcodes.
Important:Donotstoregasolinewith
stabilizer/conditionerforover30days.
12.Removethesparkplug(s)andcheckits
condition;refertoServicingtheSparkPlug
(page39).Withthesparkplug(s)removedfrom
theengine,pour2tablespoonsofengineoilinto
thespark-plughole.Usethestartertocrankthe
engineanddistributetheoilinsidethecylinder.
Installthesparkplug(s).Donotinstallthewire
onthesparkplug(s).
13.Cleananydirtandchafffromthetopofthe
mower.
14.Scrapeanyheavybuildupofgrassanddirt
fromtheundersideofthemower,thenwashthe
mowerwithagardenhose.
15.Checktheconditionofthedriveandmower
belts.
16.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatiswornor
damaged.
17.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.Paint
isavailablefromyourAuthorizedServiceDealer.
18.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageor
storagearea.Removethekeyfromtheignition
switchandkeepitinamemorableplace.Cover
themachinetoprotectitandkeepitclean.
