1.Donotcleanthepaperlter,replaceit(Figure45).
2.Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,ordamage
totherubberseal.
3.Replacethepaperelementifitisdamaged.

Donotcleanthesecondarylter,replaceit.
Important:Neverattempttocleanthesecondary
lter.Ifthesecondarylterisdirty,thenthe
primarylterisdamagedandyoushouldreplace
bothlters.
InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandcover
installed.
1.Ifinstallingnewlters,checkeachlterforshipping
damage.Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifthesecondarylterisbeingreplaced,carefully
slideitintothelterbody(Figure45).
3.Carefullyslidetheprimarylteroverthesecondary
lter(Figure45).Ensurethatitisfullyseatedby
pushingontheouterrimofthelterwhileinstalling
it.
Important:Donotpressonthesoftinsidearea
ofthelter.
4.Installtheaircleanercoverwiththebreathercap
downandrotatesotheretainingclampslockthe
coverinplace(
Figure45).

27hp,29hp,and34hpengines.Ensurethecorrect
capacityisused.
