4.Removetheretainingring(13)fromtheforkshaft(17).
5.Slideandremovetheforkshaft(17)andclutchfork(14)fromthebellhousing
(18).
6.Ifnecessary,removetheangebushing(10)fromtheclutchfork(14).
7.Removethe2locknuts(22),2bolts(1)andclutchhubclamp(2)thatsecures
theexternalclutchhub(3)totheenginedriveshaft.Slidetheexternalclutch
hub(3)towardstheengine.
8.Removethetransmissiongearboxassembly(20);refertoRemovingthe
TransmissionGearBoxAssembly(page5–24).
9.Removetheretainingring(4)thatsecurestheclutchdisc(5)tothe
transmissiongearboxshaft.Slideandremovetheclutchdisc(5),friction
plate(6),compressionspring(7)andsliderclutchdiscassembly(8).
10.Useapresstoremovethebearing(9)fromsliderclutchdisk(8).Discardthe
removedbearing(9).
11.Inspecttheclutchcomponentforwearordamage.Replacethecomponents
asnecessary.
12.Ifnecessary,removetheangebushing(10)andbushing(16)fromthebell
housing(18).
InstallingtheClutchBearing
1.Ensurethattheclutchcomponentsarecleanedbeforeassembly.
2.Ifremoved,installthebushing(16)andangebushing(10)tothebell
housing(18).
3.Useapresstoinstallthebearing(9)tothesliderclutchdisk(8).
4.Slideandinstallthesliderclutchdiskassembly(8),compressionspring(7),
frictionplate(6)andclutchdisk(5)ontothetransmissiongearboxshaft(20)
andsecurewitharetainingring(4).
5.Installthetransmissiongearboxassembly(20)ontotheenginebase;refer
toInstallingtheTransmissionGearBoxAssembly(page5–35).
6.Slidetheexternalclutchhub(3)ontothesliderclutchdiscandsecurewith
theclutchhubclamp(2),2bolts(1)and2locknuts(22).
Note:Theinnermatingsurfacesoftheclutchdisk(5)andtheexternalclutch
hubmustbeushandwithin0.75mm(0.03inch).
7.Torquetightenthebolts(1)to10to12.4N∙m(90to110in-lb).
8.Ifremoved,installtheangebushing(10)intotheclutchfork(14).
9.Applyanti-seizelubricantonsplinesoftheforkshaft(17).
10.Positiontheclutchfork(14)inthebellhousing(18)andslidetheforkshaft
(17)intotheclutchfork(14)andbellhousing.Securetheclutchforkwith
theretainingring(13).
11.Installtheclutchcableontotheforkshaft(17);refertoInstallingtheClutch
