RemovingtheFilters
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,andlowertheboom.
2.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
3.Releasethelatchesontheaircleanerand
pulltheair-inletcoverofftheair-cleanerbody
(Figure25).
4.Cleantheair-inletscreenandcover.
5.Installtheair-inletcoverandsecureitwiththe
latches(Figure25).

1.Inspecttheinnerlter.Ifitisdirty,replaceboth
theinnerandouterlters.
Important:Donotattempttocleantheinner
lter.Iftheinnerlterisdirty,thentheouter
lterisdamaged.
2.Inspecttheouterlterfordamagebylooking
intothelterwhileshiningabrightlightonthe
outsideofthelter.Iftheouterlterisdirty,bent,
ordamaged,replaceit.
Note:Holesinthelterappearasbrightspots.
Donotcleantheouterlter.
InstallingtheFilters
Important:Topreventenginedamage,always
operatetheenginewithbothairltersandthe
coverinstalled.
1.Ifyouareinstallingnewlters,checkeachlter
forshippingdamage.
Note:Donotuseadamagedlter.
2.Ifyouarereplacingtheinnerlter,carefullyslide
itintothelterbody(Figure26).
