Thebesttimetoadddistilledwatertothebatteryis

1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engagethe
parkingbrake,andlowertheboom.
2.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
3.Removethebatteryfromthemachine;referto
RemovingtheBattery(page35).
Important:Neverllthebatterywith
distilledwaterwhilethebatteryisinstalledin
themachine.Electrolytecouldspillonother
partsandcausecorrosion.
4.Cleanthetopofthebatterywithapapertowel.
5.Removetheventcapsfromthebattery(Figure
49).
6.Slowlypourdistilledwaterintoeachbatterycell
untiltheelectrolytelevelisuptotheUpperline
(Figure49)onthebatterycase.
Important:Donotoverllthebattery;
electrolyte(sulfuricacid)cancausesevere
corrosionanddamagetothechassis.
7.Wait5to10minutesafterllingthebattery
cells.Adddistilledwater,ifnecessary,untilthe
electrolytelevelisuptotheUpperline(Figure
49)onthebatterycase.
8.Installthebatteryventcaps.
ReplacingtheFuses
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,engage
theparkingbrake(ifapplicable),andlowerthe
boom.
2.Shutofftheengineandremovethekey.
3.Removetheboltandaccesspanelontheright
sideofthemachine(Figure50).
