Using the MHL Function
You can use the following functions by connecting
the HDMI 4 port on the TV and the USB port on a
mobile phone, etc. with the MHL cable.
MHL: Mobile High-de nition Link
Charging the mobile phone from the TV.
Remote operation from the TV to the mobile
phone.
Video/Audio output from the mobile phone.
Notes:
These functions may not be available depending on
the connected device.
If there is no battery in the connected device,
charging will not start (TV standby only).
Connecting a MHL-compatible Device
Connect the device to the HDMI 4 port on the TV
using a MHL cable (not supplied).
HDMI 4
When you connect a MHL-compatible device to
the HDMI 4 port on the TV with the MHL cable,
charging starts automatically. When the TV is
in standby mode, the power indicator lights in
orange.
Note:
Do not connect a MHL-compatible device to any port
other than the HDMI 4 port.
Selecting the MHL Setup
Selecting whether or not input automatically
switches to the HDMI 4 port when a MHL-
compatible device is connected.
1 From the PREFERENCES menu, press V or U to
select MHL Setup.
2 Press Q to display the TV Auto Input Switch
menu and press Y or Z to select On or O .
Connecting your TV
Notes:
Do not turn o the AC power source while the TV is
turned on and a device is connected.
Do not turn o the AC power source while the TV is in
standby mode and a device is connected.
Depending on the connected MHL-compatible
device, it may be possible to perform operations
from the device.
Exemptions
Interoperability with MHL devices of other
manufacturers is not guaranteed. Toshiba does
not provide any guarantee, therefore, against
operational failure such as that described below
when a MHL source is connected to the TV.
No picture or sound
Some of the functions do not work by remote
operation from the TV
If the MHL does not work properly, also contact the
manufacturer of the source device for advice on its
use.
Software Upgrade
TOSHIBA may o er upgrades for the TV’s software in
the future.
The TVs software is upgraded via the Network.
Before downloading software:
Con gure your TV to connect to the Internet.
Note:
While the upgrade is being performed, you will not be
able to watch the TV.
1 From the SETUP menu, press V or U to select
Software Upgrade and press Q.
2 Press Q.
Note:
If the network is not available, a warning message
will appear.
3 The TV software upgrade will start when
download succeeds.
