Notes on energy saving
Automatic power down function
The device features an automatic power-down function. If the PA 1100 E detects no operation or no music
signal for a period longer than sixty minutes, it automatically switches to stand-by mode
j
In countries outside the EU, in which the EuP directive has no validity, the automatic power-down feature can
be disabled if necessary
Switching the power down function on and off
This is the procedure for activating or disabling the automatic power-off function: switch the PA 1100 E on
using the On / Off button on the device, holding the button pressed in for about ten seconds until the LED
above the button starts ashing. The current state of the power-off function is indicated by the colour of
the LED: green means the function is active, red means disabled.
The setting can be altered using the button on the remote control handset while the LED is
ashing: press the button once to switch on the automatic power-off function; hold the button pressed in
to disable the function.
The ashing ceases automatically after about fteen seconds, but you can also end it before this by brief-
ly pressing the OK button on the remote control handset.
j
When the power down function is disabled, the LED above the on/off button remains lit dim even when the
power is off, indicating Stand-by.
The PA 1100 E satises the requirements of the latest directives concerning energy-saving measures (EuP directi-
ve). The modern design of the mains power supply makes an important contribution to this.
The internal micro-processor constantly ensures that sub-assemblies which are not currently required are auto-
matically switched off. The micro-processor itself operates in stand-by mode at a relatively low clock speed, and
only responds to the remote control receiver.
In stand-by mode the current drain of the PA 1100 E is less than 0.5 Watt.
If you intend not to use the amplier for a long period, it should be discon-nected from the mains socket, i.e. the
mains plug should be withdrawn from the wall socket.
