use the fall arrest device to perform lifting or
pulling operations,
use the fall arrest device if it has not been
inspected for more than 1 year,
use the fall arrest device without rst having
checked that all its safety equipment operates
correctly,
use the fall arrest device with any wire rope
other than a genuine TRACTEL
®
wire rope,
actuate the stirrup on the BS fall arrest device
with load,
make any changes to the fall arrest device,
interfere in any way with movement of the
stirrup or handle on the BS fall arrest device,
block the BS fall arrest device in a xed
position or prevent it from self-aligning on the
lifting or pulling wire rope,
strike the control components on the fall arrest
device,
use chemical products (acids, chlorinated
products) to clean the fall arrest device,
use the BS fall arrest device on man lifting
installations.
13. Markings
Each fall arrest device is engraved (g. 3) with
the following information:
d: Device reference
f: AA = last 2 years of the year of manufacture,
MM = month of manufacture
g. Device serial no.
o: Made in France
n: QR code

A label is fastened to each BS (g. 4) fall arrest
device; it contains the following information:
item 1: designation,
item 2: model,
item 3: wire rope diameter in mm,
item 4: “materials load lifting or pulling” symbol,
item 5: working load limit for load lifting or
pulling in kg,
item 6: symbol indicating obligation to read this
manual before installation and use of
the fall arrest device,
item 7: manufacturer’s address and contact
details.
