Appendix B - Programming User-defined Satellites
Programming Your User-defined Satellite(s)
To configure a user-defined satellite, you will need to program the
following satellite information into the antenna:
Satellite name
Satellite longitudinal position
Transponder information for all applicable combinations of
polarization/band:
•Frequency
•Symbol rate
FEC code
Network ID
•Decoder type
TIP: Linear satellites use the following polarization/band combinations:
vertical high, vertical low, horizontal high, and horizontal low. Circular
satellites use the following polarization/band combinations: right and left.
TIP: You can find satellite information on the web at www.lyngsat.com (this
website is not affiliated with KVH).
1. Connect a PC to the maintenance port, as described in
“Connect a PC to the Maintenance Port” on page 55.
Then type the following commands in the
HyperTerminal window.
2. Type
HALT then press Enter.
