How to troubleshoot Symbio 210 Controller failure by Trane?
- AAmy MckeeAug 6, 2025
To troubleshoot a failed Trane Symbio 210 controller, begin by checking for the correct supply voltage. Ensure the Symbio 210 is properly grounded, either through one leg of the transformer or with a jumper to ground. Check the Marquee LED: a solid green light indicates normal operation, while a solid red light suggests low power or a malfunction. If the LED is red, measure the power input to the controller on the XFMR 24 Vac input. If there's no voltage, trace upstream to find where the voltage is interrupted. Check for shorts by removing all wires except the incoming power. Use the Tracer TU service tool to check if the controller is operating properly and for alarms or diagnostics. If the controller continues to fail, consider replacing it.
