- SPEED: Displays the current speed.
- DISTANCE: Displays the distance traveled from the start of the exercise.
- CALORIE: Displays the total calories burned from the start of the exercise.
- TOTAL DIST (ODO): Displays the total distance traveled since the batteries were installed.
- PULSE: Displays the current heart rate in beats per minute (BPM) after 3-4 seconds when both palms are placed on the contact pads. Users should ensure their hands are moist for correct contact with the sensors. The pulse measurement is for guidance only and not for medical treatment.
- Exercise Instructions: The manual provides guidance on warm-up, exercise, and cool-down phases, including stretching exercises to prevent injury and improve flexibility.
- Warm-Up Phase: Recommended 5-10 minutes of stretching and light exercise to increase body temperature, heart rate, and circulation. Stretches should be held for approximately 30 seconds without forcing or jerking.
- Exercise Phase: Focuses on maintaining a steady tempo to raise heart rate into the target zone for 20-30 minutes. The target heart rate zone is determined by age and condition, with recommendations for cardiovascular performance, intermediate aerobic, and effective fat burning.
- Cool-Down Phase: Recommended 5-10 minutes of stretching to increase muscle flexibility and prevent post-exercise problems.
- Exercise Frequency: To maintain or improve condition, 3 workouts per week with at least one rest day are suggested. This can be increased to 5 workouts per week after a few months.
- Muscle Toning: Achieved by setting a higher resistance, which puts more strain on leg muscles. This may require reducing speed to keep the heart rate in the target zone.
- Weight Loss: Emphasizes the importance of effort; harder and longer workouts burn more calories.
- Muscle Chart: The manual includes a muscle chart highlighting the muscle groups targeted by the elliptical trainer, including Trapezius, Anterior Pectoralis Major, Serratus Anterior, Biceps, Abdominal, Sartorius, Quadriceps, Tibialis, Posterior Trapezius, Tricep, Latissimus Dorsi, Gluteals, Hamstrings, and Gastrocnemius.
- Safety Precautions: Users are advised to consult a physician before starting any exercise program, stop exercising if feeling faint or dizzy, and perform warm-up and cool-down stretches. The equipment should be set up on a solid, level surface with sufficient ventilation and at least 1 meter of clear space around it. It is crucial to maintain balance, avoid adjusting handlebars or seat while on the machine, and ensure all nuts and bolts are tightened before each use. Loose clothing or jewelry should be avoided.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: The elliptical trainer should be cleaned with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Abrasives or solvents should not be used on plastic parts. Perspiration should be wiped off after each use.
- Inspection: All assembly bolts and pedals should be inspected for proper tightness before each use.
- Storage: The equipment should be stored in a clean and dry environment, away from children.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides solutions for common issues:
- No display on console: Check wire connections from console to main frame, verify battery positioning and contact, and replace dead batteries.
- Squeaking noise: Inspect and tighten any loose bolts.
- Repairs Procedure: For faults or breakdowns, users should contact the Trojan Call Centre (0861 TROJAN / 0861 876526) to log the issue. For customers outside South Africa, contact +27 10 206 4405. A technical advisor will attempt to identify the fault and arrange a service call out. - Warranty: The product comes with a 2-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal, personal, family, or household use (commercial use excluded). Demo models have a 3-month warranty. The warranty excludes damage from misuse, commercial use, non-authorized modification, incorrect installation, or normal wear and tear.
