push bar of the drawbar should be extended. If the machine tilts backwards, the push bar of the drawbar
should be reduced. Check the seeding depths after driving a while, and adjust if necessary. Check the marker
adjustment also by evaluating the seams.
NOTE!
Lift and lower the machine only when it is moving forward. Never back the machine
when the coulters are down on the ground and power transmission is on.
Check regularly, that the coulters are not clogged. Check also all seed and fertilizer pipes and remove
possible blockages. When you start seeding, estimate the area that can be managed with one hopperfull.
After that you can determine the correct hopper filling time with an electric hectar counter (accessory).
Ensure that there is a sufficient amount of seeds and fertilizer in the hopper. Because of the bottom design,
particular attention should be paid to this especially in the beginning. Do not store seeds or fertilizer in the
hopper for many days, particularly in damp weather. Dampness may make fertilizer difficult to spread.
Suitable driving speed is more important when using Nova Combi than when using traditional seeding
machines. In general, a slightly higher speed is recommended for direct seeding, compared to traditional
seeding into pre-tilled field. The suitable speed for tilled soil is usually approx. 7-10 km/h: When seeding peas,
the maximum speed is 6-7 km/h. The maximum speed during transport with the hopper empty is 30 km/h.
7. GROUND WHEEL OF THE FEEDING DEVICE
Feeding devices are powered by the ground wheel located on the left side of the machine. The ground wheel
is attached to the hopper, and is lifted when the machine is lifted. When the machine is lifted, the ground
wheel is comes off the ground, and the feeding stops. This makes having a separate power transmission
switch unnecessary.
NOTE! Do not turn the ground wheel towards backing direction! Lift the machine always to its uppermost
position before backing the tractor.
The moment the feed is detached/connected can be adjusted by lifting or lowering the ground in relation to the
hopper. This happens by adjusting the drive cable attachment point in the hub of the wheel set tube frame.
It is also possible to retract the ground wheel during transport. Then the total transport width corresponds to
the machine nominal width of: 3 or 4 meters. Optional positions are shown in figures 6 and 7.
