Hydraulic row markers, which are available as accessories, can move very fast, particularly if the
throttle valve is completely open, and the hydraulic input is high. Particular care should be taken
when raising and lowering the markers for the first time to test their operation. Ensure that nobody is
in the way or under a marker that is only supported by the hydraulic system!
Ensure that at least 20% of the tractor weight rests on the front axle of the tractor under all
circumstances. If necessary, use extra weights. Be particularly careful if the seeder fertilizer is
connected to a rear harrow, and you are lifting it with a tractor lifting device e.g. when backing.
The maximum speed in good conditions is 30 km/h. Take particular care and lower the speed when
driving over rough, uneven ground. It is preferable to move the machine only when the hoppers are
empty. It is forbidden to carry loads on top of the machine. Avoid driving over big stones or other
obstructions to keep tires undamaged.
Never choose a driving line, where the outermost wheels cannot touch the ground. This may cause
excessive tilting of the machine. Selecting the wrong driving line may lead to the machine turning
over.
Pay particular care when moving on top of the machine in for cleaning, or servicing purposes or for
filling the hopper.
The painted surface finish may emit hazardous gases when heated. Ensure sufficient ventilation
during e.g. possible welding.
Use only accessories and optional equipment that have been approved by the manufacturer. The
manufacture is not responsible for any alterations that are not made in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions.
It is recommendable to use masks especially when using a seed-dressing device (available as
accessory). The seeder fertilizer does not essentially increase the noise level in the tractor cabin. The
possible need of hearing protection depends on the noise level of the tractor. Safety boots are
recommended when handling heavy and sharp components (such as parts of the drawbar and the set
of coulters).
If you need to transport your machine on public roads, keep the required road transport equipment
also up-to-date. Regulations may often be amended.
3. USE OF THE MACHINE
General
The Tume Nova Combi –seeder fertilizer is designed for simultaneous seeding and fertilizing particularly
in direct seeding conditions. Nova Combi is, however, also perfectly suitable for seeding minimally or
normally tilled soil.
The machine can also be used for only for seeding or only for fertilizing according to the conditions below.
Due to the structure of Nova Combi, its supporting wheels also compact the soil. In most cases the
supporting wheels close the furrows cut by the coulters.
Accessories increase the versatility of Nova Combi, and using the machine with an accessory enables
e.g. tilling or flattening the soil, seeding grass, treating the seeds before seeding, and putting tramlines on
the field simultaneously with seeding and fertilizing in one go.
Nova Combi must not be used for other than the above-mentioned purposes. It has not been designed for
e.g. transporting materials with fast speed, or storing materials in its hoppers. The loading place should be
near the field, and a fully loaded machine should be transported with a fairly low speed, taking into
consideration the load in the hoppers and the rough or uneven ground. (see section 8, page 9). It is
strictly forbidden to transport passengers on the machine!
