Very small-size grains of the seed may bit between in the adjustment bush ring between the feeder chamber
and the feeder drum. This may cause tightness when adjusting the seeding amount with the hand wheel. If
this occurs, you must operate the machine for a couple of turns whenever the adjustment starts to feel heavy.
Seed dressing device
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SEED DRESSING DEVICE
• All persons operating the seed dressing device and dressing agents must read this guide and the
instructions for the dressing material used. Dressing agents are poisonous.
• When handling dressing agents, you must wear protective gear, such as gloves, face cover,
respirator filter and protective clothing. For more instructions on the required respirator filters and
other protective equipment, refer to the instructions for the dressing agent.
• Make sure that children or animals cannot touch areas stained by the dressing agents.
• If you must wash the seed dressing device (for example when you change the dressing agent),
see to the proper disposal of the wastewater (water conduits, absorbing etc.).
• If you are seeding seeds that you do not wish to dress (e.g., turnip rape), you need to detach the
seed dressing device’s troughs. Even a small amount of dressing agent may damage seeds for
which the agent is not intended (e.g., germination).
•
Any unused dressed seeds are hazardous waste, and must be delivered to a proper hazardous
waste collection point.
Operation
The seed dressing device gets its operating power from the upper auxiliary shaft (an axel that has the
upper end of the seed power transmission cassette) on the seed side (the right end) of the seeder
fertilizer with a roller chain.
The operating power is conveyed to the dressing device with the mixer shaft through the left end. The left
end has a heart wheel/free wheel combination, used to adjust the feeding amount.
If you remove the dressing device’s feeding troughs (hoppers) from the machine, pay attention to their
order and location. This makes it easier to reassemble the device.
When adding dresser, you need to move the seeder fertilizer’s filter aside so that you can open the doors
to the feeding troughs. You will not need to completely remove the filters.
Operating instructions
When using the seed dressing material, the hoppers must always have a such a quantity of the dresser
that its surface is not above the midline of the mixer shaft. If the hopper has less dresser, the amount fed
will be reduced from the value in the table.
The dresser feed adjustment is done by moving the top end of the connecting rod at the left end within the
feed adjustment lever track.
In heart wheel operation, there are three M8 screw holes. These holes are used to set the basic feed
setting. Compare the position required with the table supplied with the dresser. When you put a screw in
the hole in the middle of the axel, the dressing device will not rotate and the dresser will not be fed, but
the mixer shaft will rotate. If you want for the mixer shaft to stop as well, remove the pin from the mixer
shaft control at the right end of the machine. Replace the pin to the empty slot at the end of the shaft for
storage.
NOTE! The seed dosage must be checked with a calibration test after driving for about 0.5 hectares. It
has been determined that the dressing device reduces seeding, in particular with barley and oats, as they
