will flow slower in the feeding mechanism because of the dresser.
After the season, the dressing device should be stored unwashed in a dry, warm place. If you do,
however, was the device, you need to dry it properly. After this you can treat the device with thin anti-
corrosive oil. Make sure that no debris has been accumulated between the feeder chamber’s drag and the
feeder drum.
Check the power transmission bearings and chain tightness annually. You can also use thin machine oil
for lubrication.
Covering discs
The covering discs (accessory) help to cover the seeds better. The covering disc is located slightly to the
side of the coulter, behind it, and it moves soil to the seeding coulter’s track.
The covering disc unit is specific to the coulter carriage. A leaf spring is attached behind each coulter
carriage, and under the spring there are two discs, one for each seed coulter.
The soiling unit is connected to the coulter carriage with the link in the front end of the leaf spring. To
restrict the low position, use the screw at the bottom of the coulter carriage. When you lift the seeder
fertilizer up, the covering discs drop down until the leaf springs of the discs hit the limiting screws.
The rear end of the coulter carriage has nine holes. These holes are used for adjusting the soiling unit.
Put an adjustment pin above the covering disc unit’s leaf spring to adjust the pressure with which the disc
operates. The lower the pin is, the higher the power of the disc. If the adjustment pin is below the leaf
spring, it limits the lower position of the disc. In this case, the covering disc only works with its own weight.
If necessary, you can completely retract the covering discs and deactivate them with this adjustment pin.
The operating angle of the discs can also be adjusted. By loosening the disc-side nut of the disc axel, you
can turn the disc axle and thus change the working angle. You need to carefully tighten the nut after the
adjustment.
NOTE! OBSERVE CAUTION WITH YOU LIFT A MACHINE WITH COVERING DISCS.
•
If the seeder fertilizer’s lifting and lowering circuit’s electric control is not connected, you basically
lift the machine as high as the lift cylinders allow. If this is done, the rear wheels of the seeder
fertilizer will come in contact with the covering discs, resulting in damage to the wheels and the
disc units. If you must lift the machine with the electric control deactivated, stop the lift at an
appropriate time before the wheels get contact with the covering discs.
• Even when the electric lifting control is active, check the specified high limit for the lift. The lift
must end clearly before the wheels are close to the covering discs. Set the high limit magnet for
the lift so that the distance between the wheels and the covering discs is at least 10 cm.
Also note that when you change the machine’s coulter pressure or seeding depth, the covering
disc adjustments change.
