8. FILLING THE HOPPERS
Filling the hoppers
When the seeding starts, it is recommended to drive the machine on the field with hoppers empty. The
fertilizers and seeds are brought to the field e.g. with a trailer, and the hoppers are filled at the field parcel. If it
is necessary to fill the seeder fertilizer far away from the parcel, extreme care must be taken when driving with
full hoppers. The maximum transport speed of 30 km/h is only allowed when driving with empty hoppers on
good roads! The maximum speed allowed when driving with full hoppers is 15 km/h.
Observe the speed at which the hoppers empty out:
• By looking into the hopper from time to time, after stopping the machine
• By reading the hectare counter (accessory) after checking how large an area can be seeded
by one hopperfull, and after noting the hectare counter reading from the previous filling
• By using electronic monitoring devices, which are available as accessories. The machine
alerts you, when there is a certain amount of fertilizer or seeds left in the hopper.
Adjustable hopper volume
You can move the middle wall between seed and fertilizer hoppers to enable adjusting the hopper volumes.
To adjust, unscrew the locking screw on the support bar and turn the middle wall to the desired position
(figure 8). Remember to lock the support bars after the adjustment. Note, that the middle wall height can also
be adjusted.

Filling the hoppers
The machine filling height is fairly large, and the hopper volume is large. This is why it is recommended to use
big sacks for filling (NOTE! Requires sufficient hoisting apparatus), or e.g. feeder spiral technology.
Big sacks can be handled with various loaders. Do not go under a hanging load. Do not lower a big sack on
top of the seeder fertilizer frame. Do not overfill the seeder fertilizer. Find out the best methods for partial
emptying of a big sack.
