GRASS-SEED UNIT CHAIN
GRASS-SEED UNIT CHAIN
Calibration test
The calibration test for the HS grass-seed box’ is performed with the four calibration test bags supplied with
the device. Carefully disconnect the seed tubes of the four feeding chambers and close the bottom plate
doors of the other seeding chambers.
Disconnect the seed and fertilizer feed in the basic machine (disconnect the pins from the feeding axels).
Adjust the hand wheel to the setting that corresponds to the desired seeding amount (as per the seeding
table). Check the correct position of the bottom valves.
Pour the seeds into the hopper.
Turn a couple of rounds on the ground wheel. This way you can ensure that the grass-seed box chambers are
filled.
Place the calibration test bags underneath the chambers from which you detached the tubes.
Turn the ground wheel for a distance that corresponds to 10 ares (Nova 3000: 110 – 120 rounds, Nova 4000:
82 – 90 rounds).
Weigh the seed quantity obtained and multiply by the device-specific coefficient: Nova 3000: 60, Nova 4000:
80. This result indicates the amount sown on a hectare. Example: Your machine is Nova 3000 and four bags
have a total of 280 grams of seed. One hectare will therefore consume 60 x 0.28 kg = 16.8 kg. NOTE! The
shaking of the machine during driving will somewhat increase the actual seeding amount compared to the
calibration test, particularly with small seed quantities. Check the seed consumption as you perform the
seeding.
NOTE! Remember to open the closed bottom plates before seeding.
You can deactivate the grass-seed box by detaching the ring pin on the chain roller at the end of the feeder
axel and transferring it to the free slot at the end of the axel. This makes the chain roller roll freely on the
feeder axel. The optional mixer shaft of the grass-seed box can be deactivated separately by disconnecting
the pin at the operating end of the mixer shaft from inside the hopper.
Make sure that when you fill the hopper, ho hard objects enter the hopper (such as fertilizer blocks etc.), as
they may damage the feeder.
