The markers’ electrical connections are discussed in Section 6. DEPLOYMENT
, Attaching the machine to
a tractor. The chart also shows the marker controller, which is connected to the tractor. The controller has
five switches equipped with indicator lights. The first from the left controls the left marker beam, the
second one controls the right one. If you are seeding round the field counterclockwise, and only need the
left marker, only turn on the first (leftmost) switch. Correspondingly, if you are driving clockwise, only turn
on the other one. The most common practice, however, is seeding back and forth, and you will then need
to turn on both switches. The marker will always change the side when you lift the machine. NOTE! The
marker whose switch you first turn on will be lowered first.
The fourth switch in the controller is the beam lifter. When the seeder fertilizer reaches an obstacle and
the marker needs to be lifted to avoid collision, do this. Turn on the fourth switch, and the EXTRA
indicator light will be lit. After this, lift the marker up as you would at the headland. Now only the marker
will be lifted while the machine will keep the specified working depth. Once you have passed the obstacle,
lower the marker down in the same way. Now turn off the fourth switch. After this the machine and the
markers will lift normally.
The third and the fifth switch are for other electronic accessories, such as low lift etc. The connectors for
these cables are located in the cable kit in the front part of the machine (white connectors).
NOTE! If you are using markers (at least one of the controller unit’s switches is on), remember to remove
the marker beam lock pins. In road transport, it is recommended to reinsert the lock pins.
Grass-seed box
The grass-seed box is intended for seeding various hay seeds and mixtures. The seeds are conveyed to
the field in tubes. The tubes are installed so that the seeder coulter earths up the seeds to an extent. The
seeding speed, for example, affects how heavily the hay seeds are covered.
The grass-seed box is integrated to the back wall of the seeder fertilizer. The basic machine’s cover
therefore also covers the grass-seed box. As the HS grass-seed box is partly attached inside the basic
machine, it reduces the seed hopper volume by approximately 200 liters, depending on the working width.
The feeding mechanism of the grass-seed box is comprised of spiral cylinders. The feeding amount is
adjusted by shifting the spiral cylinders sideways. The adjustment is done with the adjustment wheel at the left
end of the seeder, which you lock into the desired position with the plastic lock. When you open the lock,
press it in the direction of the arrow in the lock towards the end of the machine, after which you can turn the
lock away from the adjustment wheel.
DO NOT USE EXCESSIVE FORCE ON THE LOCK!
The lock’s main scale is divided into 10 units, where each unit corresponds to one turn of the adjustment
wheel. The adjustment wheel has 10 locking positions per one turn, marked by the numbers 09. This amounts
to a total of 100 different adjustments. The full turns are read from the lock scale from the adjustment wheel’s
inner surface.
The feeder has adjustable bottom valves. The adjustment lever is in the middle of the machine. With small
seeds, the adjustment slot 1 is normally used.
The bottom plate doors at between the bottom of the hopper and the feeder chamber must be
adjusted to a semi-closed position if you a seeding small and easily running materials with the
machine (e.g., clover). However, light, easily vaulting hay seeds (e.g., meadow fescue), the bottom plate
doors must be fully open.
The directional feed adjustment is made with the seeding table. Select the desired seeding dosage (kg/ha)
from the vertical axis of the table and follow the horizontal line to the right until the line intersects the graph
that represents the material being sown. Look at the horizontal axis on the table at the intersection and read
the desired adjustment value. The figures on the axis correspond to the main scale of the adjustment wheel’s
lock (i.e., the hand wheel turns). The values in the seeding table are advisory. Always check the correct
dosage by performing a calibration test!
