1.5.2 Understanding the Device Connections
The following table describes the connections on the device.
1.5.3 Understanding LED Behavior
The following tables summarize the behavior of the LEDs on both the front and rear
panels of the UBC1303AB00.
Item Description
USB Port USB 3.0 host port to support Linux applications for Ubee and 3rd party applications.
RESET
Restores the settings of the device including wireless and custom gateway settings. Use
a pointed object to push down the reset button. The device reboots if the RESET button
is pushed for less than 5 seconds. The device is reset to factory default settings if
the RESET button is pushed for more than 5 seconds.
ETHERNET 1 - 4
Connects to Ethernet devices such as computers, gaming consoles, and/or routers/hubs
using an RJ45 cable. Each ETHERNET port on the back panel of the device has an
LED to indicate its status when an Ethernet device is connected.
CABLE
Connects to the cable outlet (with the cable provided by your service provider), or a
cable splitter connected to the cable outlet.
TEL 1
TEL 2
Connects to standard telephones using an RJ11 cable. Telephone service must be
enabled by your service provider.
ON/OFF Switches the UBC1303AB00 on or off.
POWER
Connects the power cable to the device. Use only the power cable and power adapter
provided with the UBC1303AB00.
WPS
Located on the front panel of the UBC1303AB00, this button is used for the WiFi
Protected Setup (WPS) method to connect a PIN-protected WiFi device to the gateway.
Refer to Using the WPS Option on page 50 for more information.

LED Color Description
POWER GREEN
On – Internal power-on completed successfully.
Flashes – Power-on failed. Note that the LED blinks briefly immediately after powering on
the device.
Off – Device has no power.
DS
(downstream
GREEN
Fast Blinking – When data is being transmitted.
On – Locked to DS channels and registered OK.
Off – Internet error or service is not registered.
US
(upstream
GREEN
Fast Blinking – When data is being transmitted.
On – Locked to US channels and registered OK.
Off – Internet error or service is not registered.
