CONNECTING THE LOADS TO THE GENERATOR
Connect the machine you want to use to the AC outlet.
NOTE:
Do not exceed the specified load limit of the MAX AC output. Do not connect the generator to the home mains, as this may
result in damage to the generator itself or to other electrical appliances in your home, except one unit with ATS.
USE OF GENERATOR WITH ELECTRIC START DG5500SE
Make sure there is no load connected to the equipment.
FIRST START
It is possible that the first starting requires the equipment be primed (remove air from the fuel lines). On that occasion,
go to the Ubermann Authorized Technical Service to perform the mechanical adjustment and the initial start-up.
¡ATTENTION!
If the generator stops, because it consumed all the fuel, there is a possibility that it needs be primed again. To avoid this situation,
be aware of the fuel level marker and the hour meter. This generator has an approximate autonomy of 15 hr at half load.
START-UP
• Open the compartment door of the regulating elements located below
in the generator.
• Open the fuel valve, turning it to ON position. (Fig. A).
• Move the fuel injector lever to the right (Fig. B).
• Connect the starter battery, making sure that the polarity position is
correct.
• Make sure that the general protector of the board is in OFF.
• Insert the ignition key into the plate and turn it to the START position. The
generator should start after a few seconds. After starting
successfully, let the ignition key slide to the position "ON"
¡ATTENTION!
If the engine does not start at the first attempt, interrupt the starting
process and start again. The key must not remain in the starting
position for more than 5 seconds! Never remove the battery terminal cable
during operation. This could produce strong
electric shocks. If after several attempts to start the generator
still does not work, a bleeding of the fuel line must
be made. If so, call the authorized technical service.
TURNING OFF THE GENERATO
• Turn off the generator's general protector.
• urn the key to the OFF position. Remove the key.
• Close the fuel valve.
ATTENTION!
When not in use remove the starter key and store the equipment in a safe place. When it is not used, the engine must be off.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the general safety instructions and the General Instructions for the first start-up.
• Use the device only after reading the manual carefully.
• Observe all safety instructions included in this manual.
• Behave in a responsible manner with other people.
• Make sure that the plug is compatible with the socket.
• If needed, use only extension power cords that are suitable for outdoor work.
• If you use an appliance with a ground connection, the extension must also have a ground connection.
• Never pull the connected power cord to unplug it from the generator.
• If the appliance malfunctions, disconnect it immediately and have it checked and repaired. A device in poor condition
connected to the generator is a source of insecurity for people and for the equipment.

CONNECTION OF THE ELECTRICAL LOADS TO THE GENERATOR
Overloading a generator above its watts rated capacity may damage the unit and the electric
devices which are plugged in. To avoid overloading the generator, consider these points:
• Add the watts power of the total of the devices that will be connected at the same time. This
total CANNOT be higher than the stipulated watts capacity of the generator.
• Rated watts of lights can be taken out from the light bulbs. Rated watts of tools, devices and
motors can usually be found in the data label stick to the unit.
• If the device, tool or engine does not indicates the power, multiply volts times amperes to
determinate the watts (V x A = W).
• Some electric motors, as the induction ones, require three times more power watts for the
start than when it is functioning. This peak power last a few seconds when starting the
engine. Make sure to have enough watts capacity when plugin electric devices in the
generator:
1. Calculate the required watts to start the biggest engine.
2. Add to this number the functioning consumption watts of all the plugged charges. The
watts potency reference chart is provided to assist in the determination of how many
elements the generator can supply at once.
NOTE: ALL THE NUMBERS ARE APPROXIMATED. CHECK THE DEVICE SPECIFICATIONS TO
KNOW THE WATT POWER NEEDED.
