INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
If 100% of the pump’s ow comes from the main
drain system, the maximum water velocity in the
pump suction hydraulic system must be 6 ft. per
second or less even if one main drain (suction
outlet) is completely blocked. The ow through the
remaining main drain(s) must comply with the latest
ASME/ANSI specications for Suction Fittings
For Use in Swimming Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and
Whirlpool Bathtub Applications.
Testing and Certication
Suction outlet covers must have been tested by a
nationally recognized testing laboratory and found
to comply with the latest ASME/ANSI specications
for Suction Fittings For Use in Swimming
Pools, Spas, Hot Tubs, and Whirlpool Bathtub
Applications.
Fittings
Fittings restrict ow. For best efciency, use fewest
possible ttings (but at least two suction outlets).
Avoid ttings which could cause an air trap. Pool
ttings must conform to International Association
of Plumbing and Mechanical Ofcials (IAPMO)
standards. Use only non-entrapping suction tting
and double suction.
Electrical
Risk of electric shock. Can shock, burn or
kill. Ground pump before connecting to
power supply. See Grounding/Bonding.
Ground motor before connecting to electrical
power supply. Failure to ground motor can cause
severe or fatal electrical shock hazard.
To avoid dangerous or fatal electrical shock, turn
power OFF to motor before working on electrical
connections.
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) tripping
indicates an electrical problem. If GFCI trips and
will not reset, have a qualied electrician inspect
and repair electrical system.
Exactly match supply voltage to motors
nameplate voltage. Incorrect voltage can cause
re or seriously damage motor and voids
warranty. If in doubt, consult a licensed electrician.
