Kitas speed sensor
error
The Kitas sensor
may be defective
or a bad
connection.
Error information
will be sent via
CAN, speed will
not be displayed in
vehicle dashboard.
It will be present in
active error list until
the issue is fixed.
Check the sensor and
its connection. In case
the error persists, go
to an authorized VDO
station.

K-Line communication
error
Problems on the
dashboard of the
vehicle or the
electrical part.
No message will
appear on the
dashboard of the
vehicle.
Goes to an authorized
VDO station to repair
it.

Print without paper roll
There is no paper
inserted in the
printer tray or
paper is not
enough to
complete the
current print.
If there is no paper
in the printer
drawer the BVDR
will cancel the print
job and after 10
seconds it will
automatically go to
the Default
Display.
Insert a new roll of the
VDO print ribbon.

CAN communication
interface error
CAN
communication
problems with the
vehicle,
unbalanced CAN
network.
No message will
appear on the
dashboard of the
vehicle (CAN
cluster).
Go to an authorized
VDO station to
perform the vehicle
CAN network check.

Printer drawer open
warning
The drawer of
BVDR is
maintained open
for more than 20
seconds.
An audible alarm
sounds and a
message appears
on the screen.
Close the BVDR
drawer.
In case of the error
persisting go to an
authorized VDO
station to repair.

Recording error
BVDR’s software
update error.
Any BVDR’s
message will be
transmitted.
Turn on and turn off
the vehicle, if the error
persists, go to an
authorized VDO
station.
