Youcanndinformationonprotectivebarriersandthemounting
of the corresponding source container in the operating instructions
manualofthesourcecontainer,e.g.VEGASOURCE.
You can mount the FIBERTRAC 31 with the housing head upward or
downward.Whenthehousingheadismounteddownward,thehous-
ing itself is more easily accessible.
Fasten the sensor in such a way that it cannot fall out of the holder. If
necessary,providethesensorwithasupportfrombelow.
DirecttheexitangleofthesourcecontainertotheFIBERTRAC31.
Mount the source container as close as possible to the vessel. If there
aregaps,securetheareawithasafetyfenceandprotectivegrating
so that no one can reach into the dangerous area.
You can mount the sensor on your vessel with the enclosed mounting
clamps. A number of mounting clamps come with the FIBERTRAC 31
depending on the length of the sensor.
Useamountingclampapprox.every450mm(17.72in).During
mounting,adjustthedistancesbetweentheattachedmountingclips.
Takenoteoftheminimumbendingradiusofthesensor,whichis
305 mm (12 in).

Determinetheexactmountingpositionofoneorseveralmounting
clamps and mark the holes.
Alignthemountingpositionsexactlyandaveragethedistances
between the enclosed mounting clamps.
Drillappropriateholes(max.M12)forfasteningthemounting
clamps.
Note:
The mounting clamps do not come with fastening screws. Use fasten-
ing elements that are appropriate for the situation in your plant.
Tomeasurethelevelinveryhighvessels,multipleinstrumentscanbe
cascaded.
Cascading means that two or several instruments are connected
which can together cover a longer measuring range.
