8.2.9 STAIRWAYS RELATED RECOMMENDATIONS
It is not possible to use stairways as the cart only operate on flat floors, but stairways should
not be forgotten while scanning a floor.
Bring the cart till the limit of the floor so most of the stairways can be scanned. The not visible
part of the stair way will not be scanned. See Figure 33
Figure 33: stairways have to be scanned but the cart CANNOT use stairways to go up & down.
8.2.10 CELLARS AND MANSARD ROOFED ATTICS:
iMS3D cannot operate if walls are not vertical and if there is no vertical objects within scan
range, therefore mansard roofed attics and heavily vaulted ceilings cellars cannot be scanned
without preparations and specific post treatment.
Figure 34: Vaulted ceilings without any vertical references within scan range (95-145 cm) requires specific precautions (VM
targets…)
Figure 35: Vaulted ceilings with vertical object within scan range (95-145cm) can be scanned.
