Why is my Viqua Water Filtration System operating but water tests reveal bacterial contamination?
    • B
      Billy BakerSep 4, 2025
If your Viqua Water Filtration System is operating but water tests show bacterial contamination, ensure the UV system is the last piece of treatment equipment to prevent downstream equipment from acting as a breeding ground for pathogens. Also, pathogens might be residing in the distribution lines post-UV. Ensure all distribution lines have been disinfected with chlorine. Finally, recontamination from pipe dead-ends may be the cause. Remove any pipe dead-ends and flush with chlorine.

      Donna AcevedoSep 18, 2025
If your Viqua Water Filtration System is leaking at the inlet or outlet, the threaded pipe fittings may be the source. Try cleaning the threads, resealing them with Teflon tape, and then retightening the fittings.

What to do if my Viqua Water Filtration System is operating but water tests reveal bacterial contamination?
    • D
      Daniel GrahamSep 16, 2025
If your Viqua Water Filtration System is operating but water tests reveal bacterial contamination, one possible cause is that equipment downstream of the UV system is acting as a breeding ground for pathogens. To resolve this, ensure the UV system is the last piece of treatment equipment. Another cause could be pathogens residing in the distribution lines post-UV; in this case, ensure all distribution lines have been disinfected with chlorine. Recontamination from pipe dead-ends is another possibility; remove any pipe dead-ends and flush with chlorine.

What to do if leak detected from area of UV chamber in Viqua IHS12-D4/2?
    • J
      Jon GarciaSep 13, 2025
If you notice a leak from the area of the UV chamber in your Viqua Water Filtration System, it could be due to a few reasons. It may be caused by condensation of moist air on the cold chamber. In this case, control humidity or relocate unit. Another cause may be that the O-ring is damaged, deteriorated or incorrectly installed, so inspect and replace it if deteriorated. Also, the lamp/sleeve assembly may not be properly installed (too tight or not tight enough). Tighten the assembly hand-tight.

Why water tests reveal bacterial contamination in Viqua IHS12-D4/2?
    • K
      kweeksSep 12, 2025
If water tests reveal bacterial contamination even though your Viqua Water Filtration System is operating, there are a few potential causes. First, ensure the UV system is the last piece of treatment equipment, as equipment downstream could be a breeding ground for pathogens. Also, ensure all distribution lines have been disinfected with chlorine because pathogens might reside in the distribution lines post-UV. Finally, remove any pipe dead-ends and flush with chlorine, because recontamination can occur from pipe dead-ends.

What to do if GFCI or breaker repeatedly trips in Viqua IHS12-D4/2 Water Filtration Systems?
    • H
      Hannah McneilSep 7, 2025
If the GFCI or breaker repeatedly trips in your Viqua Water Filtration System, it could be due to a few reasons. First, check if there's moisture between the lamp and lamp plug. If so, clean and dry the lamp pins and lamp plug, and inspect the unit for leaks or condensation. Alternatively, there might be a short-circuit in the electrical assembly, in which case you should replace the controller.
