l) Power measurement (only for VC940)
With this measurement function, you can perform power measurements on devices with two-prong
Schuko-type (grounded) or Euro plugs quickly and easily using the supplied jack adapter.
The measuring range is 0–2500 W.
Proceed as follows to measure the power:

Set the range selector switch (5) to “W”.•
Plug the supplied power measurement adapter (C) into the •
DMM.
Insert the plug (A) from the power measurement adapter •
into a Schuko-type outlet (max. 250 VAC).
Plug the consumer under test into the socket (B) on the •
power measurement adapter. Ensure that the consumer
is off.
Switch the consumer on. The real power consumption of the consumer is shown on the main display •
(12) in watts (W). The apparent power is shown on the right subdisplay in VA, and the power factor is
shown as “cos φ” on the left subdisplay.
Before you disconnect the consumer under test from the DMM, ensure that the consumer is off..•
Never connect devices with power consumptions of > 2500 W to the DMM. The power
measurement adapter may only be connected to AC voltages (190 VAC to max. 250
VAC).
Measurement duration for power measurement: 0–1150 W: continuous measurement,
1150–2500 W: max. 10 seconds with 15-minute pause between measurements
AUTO POWER OFF FUNCTION10.
In order to avoid unnecessary shortening of the operating life of the battery, an automatic switch-off
function has been implemented. The measuring device is factory-set to switch off after 10 minutes.
This time can be changed or the function deactivated in the setup menu. The measuring device can be
switched back on through pressing of the blue button or turning of the rotary switch.
If the Send function (transmission of current measured values to the interface) is active, the Auto Power
OFF function is deactivated.
