13.2.3.6 Checking the hook race for damage
Carry out the following steps:
1. Remove the ‹needle plate›.
2. Insert the W6 plastic bobbin in the black ‹hook race›.
3. Pull the lower thread through the two slots on the left-hand side of the
hook race.
4. Thread the upper thread, see „What do I do with the upper thread?“ >
„Threading the upper thread“ (Page 68).
! Also thread the thread through the needle.
5. Lift the lower thread, see „What do I do with the upper thread?“ > „Taking
up the upper thread with the lower thread“ (Page 75) and pull it out by
about 15 cm.
! When doing so, hold the upper thread with the other hand.
6. Turn the ‹hand wheel› forwards (towards you
) about five times.
! If the thread remains hanging or if it snags, then the hook system is
damaged.

W6 Tip
Minor needle strikes on the hook race may be removed carefully by means
of fine emery paper (for example, 800-grit).
If the hook race has been severely damaged by needle strikes, it must
be replaced. Visit our W6 WERTARBEIT online shop in the
Spare Parts
category, to order a new hook race.
13.2.4 Machine lighting
The machine is equipped with a maintenance-free LED lamp. Please
contact the W6-WERTARBEIT Customer Service Department in the event
failure.
