1.3 After sewing
Please perform the following task after sewing:
• Clean the machine and remove small pieces of thread, lint or dust.
• Switch off the machine.
• Always unplug the ‹power plug›.
• Set the machine down in such a manner that it cannot fall.
• Keep the machine out of reach of children and animals.
• Exchange needles regularly. Worn or damaged needles pose a hazard.
1.4 Tips for a long-life span
To ensure a long service life, take note of the following items:
• Do not expose the machine to direct sunlight, moisture or high levels of
humidity.
• Clean the machine regularly. Perform these tasks thoroughly and at
least once a year. In the event of increased use, more frequently.
• When cleaning the machine, use only dry or damp cloths.
• Never use benzine, thinners or other chemical agents for the purposes
of cleaning.
• Do not subject the machine to strong vibrations.
• Based on its design the machine is not intended for commercial use.
• Allow it to be inspected by a W6 workshop (this may result in additional
costs).
• Frequent sewers should send the machine in for an annual inspection
while an inspection every 2 to 4 years should be sufficient for normal
use.
