4.29 Operating at High Elevations (D models)
Background
If using the machine at or above elevations of 1524 m (5000 ft) asl (above sea
level), a high elevation kit, periodic monitoring, and additional maintenance are
necessary to preserve the machine’s systems. The following procedures will
ensure that the machine runs smoothly and that premature soot build-up will be
reduced.
