Properties of the characteristic curve Field of application/remarks
Standard level (black) – for poorly rechargeable types of powder
– Open-circuit voltage 100 kV – for high powder application
– Maximum current 120 µA – for high application eectiveness
(Current limitation at 120 µA) – This setting corresponds to the usual
WAGNER high-voltage modules and
control units.
Medium level (gray) – for small surfaces
– Open-circuit voltage 100 kV – for types of powder that recharge well
– Maximum current 120 µA – for metallic powder
– to reduce the eects of overcoating such
as craters and orange peel
– Increasing the open-circuit voltage
allows for a greater distance between
the spray gun and the work piece while
maintaining sucient powder charging.
Soft level (white) – for types of powder that recharge well
– Open-circuit voltage 100 kV – for small powder application
– Maximum current 80 µA – for post-coatings
