What to do if the Wayne Burner combustion motor turns on but there's no heat?
    • D
      Dawn HarrisAug 11, 2025
First, check the wiring connections at the RELAY COM and RELAY N.O. terminals. Next, check the wiring connections on the ignition control. Make sure there is a 24 Vac input to the ignition control and 24 Vac at the valve terminals on the ignition control when heat is needed. Also, inspect the wiring connections at the VALVE (+) and VALVE(-) terminals on the iHEAT control, and the wiring connections on the white solenoid coil of the gas valve. Ensure the black rectifier plug is properly connected to the gas valve. Finally, verify gas flow during ignition. If gas flows but ignition doesn't occur, address the ignition problem. If gas doesn't flow, investigate the gas valve.

Why is the Wayne Burner temperature well over the thermostat set point?
    • M
      Mark GillespieAug 16, 2025
First, check the wiring connections at the 4-20 mA(+) and COM(-) terminals, ensuring the + and - connections from the control enclosure match the corresponding + and - connections at the iHEAT control. Also, with the burner operating at full fire, check the inlet gas pressure using the appropriate pressure tap on the gas valve and check the adjustment of the modulating gas valve's high pressure setting.

Why does the Wayne P250 temperature cycle above and below the set point?
    • R
      Ryan SullivanAug 21, 2025
This temperature cycling is normal operation for iHEAT control with V53 and later software. A flashing Valve light indicates the burner has been turned off to maintain the appliance temperature. Also, verify the proper dip-switch position for your appliance and gas type. Finally, check the low-pressure setting of the manual gas valve and adjust it as needed.

How to troubleshoot a Wayne P250 when the iHEAT system doesn't run?
    • J
      Jamie RobertsAug 26, 2025
First, check to make sure the burner switch is on. If it is on, check for 120 volts across the L1 and Neutral terminals and repair if necessary. Finally, with the burner switch on, check for 24 volts across the 24Vac terminals and repair if necessary.

What to do if Wayne Burner oven temperature slowly increases above the set point?
    • H
      hsmithAug 30, 2025
Verify the proper gas orifice size for the desired firing rate and type of gas. Also, check the low-pressure setting of the modulating gas valve and adjust it as necessary.
