3 Installation location
The water heater must be installed outside the passenger cabin.
The heaters should ideally be installed in the engine compartment in a
splash-proof area of the front wing or on the bulkhead.
The heaters must be installed in as low a position as possible to allow
the heater and circulating pump to be bled automatically. This is
particularly important as the circulating pump is not self-priming.
IMPORTANT
The openings in the water ports must not point downwards in any
installation location.
IMPORTANT
The heaters must not be installed:
– in the immediate vicinity of or above hot parts,
– in areas directly exposed to splashing water from the wheels,
– below the water clearance level line of the vehicle.
