Why does my Wen CT1272 motor not start?

  The motor of your Wen Saw might not start due to several reasons. It could be that the plunge button isn't fully pressed. Ensure it is fully pressed before starting. Another reason could be a damaged power cord or an improperly plugged-in cord. Check the power cord, extension cord, power plug, and outlet, and don't use the saw if any cord is damaged. The power outlet might not be providing enough power, so ensure it's functional and has the correct capacity for the tool. Also, a worn carbon brush might cause this problem, inspect and replace carbon brushes as needed. Replacement carbon brushes (part no. CT1272-031) can be ordered from wenproducts.com.

Why does my Wen Saw overheat?

  Your Wen Saw might be overheating because you are forcing the tool to work too fast; avoid forcing it and make sure that the blade selection is appropriate for the cut type and workpiece. Blocked motor housing vents can also cause overheating. Wear safety glasses and a dust mask, then blow the dust out of the motor housing vents.

  If your Wen Saw is difficult to pull backwards along the track, it could be due to several factors. The anti-kickback cam might be engaged. The blade could be dull, in which case you should sharpen or replace it. Also, a dirty blade can cause this issue; remove the blade and clean the surface and cutting edge with steel wool and turpentine. Make sure the blade flanges are flush against the blade and arbor bolt is tightened completely. Ensure the blade is installed in the correct orientation and is compatible with the material type and thickness being cut.
