• Batteriescontaincorrosivesulphuricacid.Nottobetakeninternally!Avoidcontactwithskinandeyeswithoutfail.
• Duringwet-cellcharging,thebatterycompartmentmustbeopenwithoutfail,otherwisethereisadangerofexplosionbyelectrolytic
gas.Adangerofseriousinjuryexists.
• Useonlyasuitablechargingapplianceforchargingmaintenance-freeandwet-cellbatteries.
• Donothaveanakedameorglowingobjectsnearbatteries.
• Donotgeneratesparksnearbatteries.
• Strictlynosmoking.
• Donotopenmaintenance-freebatteries.Donottopupwithdistilledwater.
• Nevertouchthebatteryterminalswithyourhandorhands.
• Thecontactsmustbecoveredtopreventshortcircuitingbymetaljumpers(e.g.hybridconnections).
• Forcleaningandmaintenance,orwhenchangingaccessoriesandspares,alwaysisolatethemachinefromthebatterybydetachingthe
battery-chargingplug.

Preventing total discharge of batteries
Beforeperiodsofprolongednon-use,thebatterymustbefullychargedtoprotectitfromtotaldischarge,andthereaftertheelectricalcom-
ponentsfromthebatterymustbeisolatedbypullingthechargingplugfromthebattery.Dischargesofmorethan80%ofthenominalcapacity,
i.e.whenthebatterychargeis20%orless,areregardedastotaldischarges.Theoutcomeisashortenedbatterylifeorcompletedestruction
ofthebattery.Claimsunderguaranteeinvolvingatbatteriesordestructioncanthereforenotbevalidated.
8 MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
Ourproductshavebeeninspectedforsafetyatthefactory.Toensuretheiroperationalsafetyandtomaintaintheirvalue,aservicemustbe
carriedoutonceeverytwelvemonthsorafter400hoursofoperation.Servicemayonlybeperformedbyourservicedepartmentorbyappro-
vedexperts.
9 TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE
Whentransportingandstoring,thetemperaturemustnotexceed50°C.Attemperaturesbelow0°C,thewatersystemmustbeenrichedwithanti-freeze.
Whenmachineistransported,itmustbeproperlypackedandsecured.Ifthemachineisstored,thefreshwateranddirtywatermustbe
emptiedandthetankcleaned.
10 CORRECT DISPOSAL
• Packaging,unusedcleaningagentsanddirtywatermustbedisposedofinaccordancewithregulationsinforceatnationallevel.
• Returnbatteriesunopenedtothemanufacturerforprofessionaldisposal.
• Themachinemustbedisposedofafterdecommissioninginaccordancewithregulationsinforceatnationallevel.
