The pump is not approved for operation with a
counter-clockwise rotating eld!
6.2.2. If the direction of rotation is incorrect
If the direction of rotation is incorrect for direct
startmotors,2phasesmustbeswapped.Inthe

mentation.
6.4. Commissioning
The pump must have been installed properly as
speciedinthe“Installation”chapter.Thismust
be checked before the system is switched on.
Minor oil leakage in the mechanical shaft seal on

Keep out of the pump's work area. No persons
are allowed in the work area during start-up or
operation.

WARNING: Danger of crushing!
In portable installations, the pump can fall
over when it is switched on or during opera-
tion. Make sure that the pump is positioned
on a rm bearing surface and that the pump
foot is mounted correctly.
6.4.1. Before activation
• Checkthefollowing,ingeneral:
• Cableguidance–noloops,slightlytaut
• Min./max.temperatureoftheuid
• Max. immersion depth
• Cleanthepipesystemonthepressureside
(hose,piping)–ushwithcleanwatertopre-
vent deposits forming clogging.
• The hydraulics housing must be completely

ingdevicesinthesystemor,ifavailable,using
vent screws on the pressure port.

• Cleanthepumpsumpofcoarsecontaminants
• Openallslidevalvesonthepressureside
6.4.2. Switching on/off
The pump is switched on and off using a sepa-
rateoperatingpoint(on/offswitch,switchgear)
provided by the customer.
Duringthestart-upprocedure,theratedcurrent
is temporarily exceeded. After the start-up pro-
cedureisnished,thecurrentmustnotexceed

6.5. Safety rules during operation
Whenoperatingthepump,alwaysfollowthe
locally applicable laws and regulations for work
safety,accidentpreventionandhandlingelec-
trical machinery. To help ensure safe working
practice,theresponsibilitiesofemployeesshould

are responsible for ensuring that regulations are
observed.
Duetotheirdesign,centrifugalpumpshave
rotating parts that are easily accessible. Depend-
ingontheoperatingcondition,sharpedgescan
develop on these parts.
WARNING: Danger of crushing and amputation
of limbs!
Sharp edges can form on the rotating parts in
the hydraulics. These can result in crushing
and amputation of limbs. Never reach into the
hydraulics when the machine is in operation.
The following must be checked at regular inter-
vals:
• Operatingvoltage(permissibledeviation+/-
5%oftheratedvoltage)
• Frequency(permissibledeviation+/-2%ofthe
ratedfrequency)
• Currentconsumption(permissibledeviation
betweenphasesisamaximumof5%)
• Voltage difference between the individual
phases(max.1%)
• Switchingfrequency(seetechnicaldata)
• Avoidairentryintheinlet,adeectorplate
shouldbettedifnecessary
• Minimum water submersion
• Switching points for level control device or
dry-running protection
• Smooth running
• All slide valves must be open.
7. Decommissioning/disposal
• All work must be carried out with the greatest
care.
• Proper protective clothing is to be worn.
• Whencarryingoutworkinbasinsand/ortanks,
the respective local protection measures must be
observed. A second person must be present for
safety reasons.
