pipes in or under the deck, paying attention to frost-free installation. This should be done by a

34. Discoloration of the wood may occur over time. Wood is a natural product and will become
progressively grayer under the influence of UV light. The additional protection will slow down this
process, but will not prevent it. If there is a significant difference in terms of direct sun exposure, a
difference in the rate of aging may occur. Parts facing south will discolor faster than other orientations.

35. During varying temperatures (winter - summer), the wood will expand and contract. This can result in
a change in the “groove” between the slats.
36. The wood slats may have a deviation on straightness. This can be as much as 4mm per running
meter.
37. Wood is a natural product, therefore nodes or small cracks may occur in the wood.
