7.2 Exchange of barrel
Lift the pump unit carefully into the lubricant barrel. Auxiliary tools like a hand crane (order-
no. 590.004-65, data sheet P0312) may alleviate the lifting of the pump. If a grease follow-up
plate is used, pull it out of the barrel.
Important! If the pump unit and/or the grease follow-up plate is put on the
ground floor, make sure that the ground surface is clean.
Exchange the empty barrel by a full barrel.
Lift the pump unit carefully into the lubricant barrel. Pay attention that no power supply line and
lubricating line gets damaged.
Pump units with grease follow-up plate:
Put the follow-up plate on the grease and push it down slightly. Put the rubber seal onto the
inside edge of the barrel by flattening the seal. Afterwards, lift the pump unit carefully into the
lubricant barrel. Pay attention that the suction pipe is leaded through the hole situated in the
middle of the follow-up plate.
Important! If the pump unit is not equipped with a level control, the level of
the reservoir has to be checked regularly (time interval
depending on the consumption).
The following barrels are suitable for the use with the pump unit:
