Overview

The WyreStorm MX-0404-SCL is a 4K 4x4 HDMI seamless matrix switcher designed for applications requiring seamless 4K switching. It features a compact enclosure and supports instant switching and free scaling up to 4K@60Hz SDR and HDR. The device allows four HDMI sources to be switched to four HDMI outputs. Additionally, it provides both analog and digital S/PDIF audio de-embedding for outputs 1 and 2.

Usage Features:

  • Seamless Switching: Provides seamless switching between HDMI inputs and outputs without a black screen transition.
  • Video Processing: Advanced video processing capabilities include free scaling between 480p and 4K@60Hz, conversion between SDR and HDR formats, and conversion on color space, chroma, and color bits. It supports rich scaler processing modes, including auto scaler, manual scaler, and video bypass.
  • EDID Management: Offers comprehensive EDID management features, including EDID presets, EDID copy from outputs, and custom EDID. Users can select desired EDID options for each input port, copy EDID from any output, or read/write/export/import EDID files.
  • Control Options:
    • Front Panel Buttons: Users can perform basic input source switching to output displays. Select output port(s), then an input port, and press ENTER to implement the selection.
    • IR Control: The device can be controlled via an IR remote controller. Connect the IR receiver cable to the IR EXT. port and ensure the receiver eye is accessible.
    • RS232 Control: Connect a control PC to the RS232 port. API commands can be sent after configuring serial port parameters (Baud Rate: 115200 bps, Data bits: 8 bits, Parity: None, Stop bits: 1 bit, Flow control: None).
    • Telnet Control: Connect a control PC to the LAN port. Telnet commands can be used to control the device. The device's IP address can be obtained via RS232.
    • Web UI: A web-based user interface provides basic controls and advanced settings. It is accessible through modern browsers by inputting the device's IP address. The default password is "admin".
  • Matrix Control (Web UI):
    • Video Matrix Control: Manages the distribution of input sources to output displays. Users can click buttons in a table to select inputs for specific outputs or route an input to all outputs.
    • HDMI A/V Mute: Allows muting/unmuting video and audio for selected HDMI output ports.
    • De-embedded Audio Mute: Allows muting/unmuting de-embedded audio for selected audio output ports.
    • Scaling: Configures scaler settings for each output. Options include "Auto" (adapts to display EDID), "Manual" (selects a desired output resolution), and "Bypass" (bypasses the input video source, available for outputs 1 and 2 only).
    • Presets Matrix Control: Saves or loads matrix settings to/from presets.
  • General Setting (Web UI):
    • Source Naming: Allows changing the names of input ports (up to 15 characters).
    • Zone Naming: Allows changing the names of output ports (up to 15 characters).
  • Advanced Setting (Web UI):
    • Lower Power Mode: Enables the device to shut down all video outputs and enter standby status. Re-login is required when exiting this mode.
    • CEC Control: Provides options to power on/off connected displays via CEC and configure an "Auto Delay Time" for displays to power off automatically when no signal is present.
    • HDCP: Enables or disables HDCP encryption for each input port (default is On).
  • Network Configuration: Allows setting the IP address type to DHCP (automatic assignment) or Static (manual configuration).

Maintenance Features:

  • Firmware Upgrade: Supports firmware upgrades through the Web UI or the Micro USB port on the rear panel.
    • Web UI Upgrade: Users can browse for the firmware file and click "Update".
    • Micro USB Upgrade: Requires connecting the device to a PC, sending a specific RS232 command, and using the USBDownloadTool2.1.exe software to perform the upgrade.
  • System Reboot/Factory Reset: The Web UI provides options to reboot the device or perform a factory reset.
  • Log Retrieval: The Web UI displays system setting change records, which can be exported as a log file.
  • Custom Web UI Logo: Users can upload a custom logo (PNG format, less than 300x60 pixels) for the Web UI.
