ternative oil grade listed under
Recommended engine oil grade 2.

Fuel requirements

Gasoline
Use a good quality gasoline that meets the
minimum octane requirement. If knocking or
pinging occurs, use a different brand of gaso-
line or premium unleaded fuel. Yamaha rec-
ommends that you use alcohol-free gasoline
(see Gasoline with Ethanol) whenever possi-
ble.
The use of a poor quality gasoline may result
in starting and running problems. If you en-
counter drivability problems, which you sus-
pect could be related to the fuel you are using,
we recommend that you switch to a recog-
nized high quality brand of gasoline, such as
a gasoline that is advertised as Top Tier De-
tergent Gasoline. Failure to comply with these
recommendations may also result in un-
scheduled maintenance, fuel system dam-
age, and internal engine damage.
