INSPECTING AND REPLACING
ANODE(S)
Yamaha outboard motors are protected from
corrosion by sacrificial anodes.
Check the anodes periodically. Remove
scales from the surfaces of the anodes.
For inspection and replacement of anodes,
consult a Yamaha dealer.

Do not paint anodes, as this would ren-
der them ineffective.

CHECKING BOLTS AND NUTS
1) Check that bolts securing the cylinder
head and engine and the nut securing
the flywheel are tightened with their
specified tightening torque.
2) Check the tightening torque of other
bolts and nuts.

CHECKING TOP COWLING
Check the fitting of the top cowling by push-
ing it with both hands.
If the fitting is loose have it repaired by a
Yamaha dealer.
