Why is the sound so low on my Yamaha Home Cinema speakers?
    • D
      David JacksonAug 10, 2025
If the sound level from your Yamaha Home Cinema speakers is too low, make sure the speaker cables are connected correctly, with L connected to L, R to R, “+” to “+”, and “–” to “–”. Also, consider that the source sound may lack bass frequencies, or standing waves may be influencing the sound. To resolve this, try playing a source sound with bass frequencies or reposition the subwoofer. You can also break up parallel surfaces by placing bookshelves along the walls.

If your Yamaha subwoofer isn't turning on automatically, check that the POWER switch is in the ON position. Also, ensure that the AUTO STANDBY switch is set to either the “HIGH” or “LOW” position. If the input signal is too low, set the AUTO STANDBY switch to the “HIGH” position.

If your Yamaha subwoofer is turning on unexpectedly, it could be due to noise from external appliances. Try moving the subwoofer away from these appliances or repositioning the connected speaker cables. Alternatively, set the AUTO STANDBY switch to the “OFF” position.
